Defending the West's Wildlife & Habitat

WELC's Wildlife & Habitat work

Grizzly bears ambling the open plains, rivers teeming with salmon, eagles soaring the sky, wolves howling throughout the night...abundant wildlife and protected habitat are symbols of the American West. But, the bountiful wildlife described in the journals of Lewis and Clark is a fading memory as developers and industry pollute and develop with inadequate restraint. The Western Environmental Law Center has collaborated with more than sixty organizations and tribes to defend this heritage, and protect animals and their habitat before they are gone forever.
