Legal Internships – Summer 2009
The Western Environmental Law Center is accepting resumes for summer legal intern positions in these locations: Northwest office in Eugene, Oregon; Southwest office in Taos, New Mexico; and Northern Rockies office in Helena, Montana. We are looking for bright and motivated individuals committed to public interest environmental law with a good sense of humor. Responsibilities include legal research and writing, drafting pleadings and developing case strategy. Interns will be supervised by a staff attorney in the office location in which they are hired. These are unfunded positions. We will provide whatever assistance we can to help selected applicants obtain outside funding.
If interested, please send a cover letter, resume, transcript, writing sample and a list of references by email to welc@westernlaw.org. Students unable to submit materials by email may send applications by regular mail to Western Environmental Law Center, P.O. Box 1507, Taos, NM 87571. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until Friday, January 23, 2009. Early applications are encouraged. Preference will be given to 2L students.
Please indicate the following information on your cover letter: (1) which WELC office internship you are applying for; and (2) if you are facing a funding application deadline.
